Introduction

For aged 1 to 4

A colourful world of lullabies

Our littlest friends will be thrilled to wander around the magical world of A Little Lamp, Pea and Feather, an amazingly gentle performance that will lull toddlers into an enchanting story inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s tale The Princess and the Pea.

Imagined by Slovenia’s Ljubljana Puppet Theatre, the performance welcomes kids one to four
years old into a bright, colourful setting, immersing them into a sensory experience of visual and sound effects. The little audience will be mesmerized by the tolling of little bells, harp playing and the repetition of simple sounds, syllables and words, as they are immersed in a story about a young prince searching for his dream princess.
Drawing a gentle line between wakefulness and sleep, the show is intertwined with well-known lullabies and Slovenian cradle songs played and hummed on stage by three performers.

Dressed-up in bright, intriguing costumes, the trio brings props and objects to life, captivating little boys and girls with the sounds and imagery of a dreamlike fantasy.
The Ljubljana Puppet Theatre was founded in 1948 and has since become Slovenia’s premiere institution in the promotion of the country’s long puppetry tradition. The company has staged numerous popular and internationally acclaimed productions besides organizing festivals gathering puppet troupes from around the world, staging performances to entertain and inspire a wide range of audiences, from the very young to the adult.

A Little Lamp, Pea and Feather, revisits one of Andersen’s most popular tales, taking our babies and toddlers into a wonderful first time journey to the magical world of theatre. An immersive, captivating experience that might be laying the foundations of our children’s artistic curiosity .
